Make a donation. Help traumatized youth today.

Sozo Youth Sanctuary Foundation became a state and federally recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit on May 5, 2005.

For more than 20 years, SYSF has provided therapy and intervention to children, teens, and family members who are deeply affected by trauma, at virtually no cost to them. We strive to avoid duplication of services that could be better met by other available funding; These families have no other available options.

Donations may be earmarked for any of the following.

  • Direct services for children and youth, Including various therapies, positive activities, celebrations, and outdoor experiences

  • “On Their Feet Fund” for older youth establishing independence (vehicle donation, vocational training, scholarship supplementation, moving and first apartment setup costs, etc.)

  • General operations - SYSF has operated for two decades with no salaried positions. In order to grow and be sustainable, this is a very important focus. It includes office rent, IT, electronic mental health record, data entry, training, support staff, and travel as needed, as well as the miscellaneous expenses of operation.

  •  Sanctuary property development. Building of our Retreat Center/Lodge and infrastructure (capital funding). For the latter, please contact Frederick Bolton, CFO at (970) 260-8233 or email frederick@sozoysf.org

Sozo Youth Sanctuary Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, and educational purposes under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Our bylaws clearly state that we do not show discrimination in regard to race, religion, creed, or sexual/gender identity. Although we are registered as a religious non-profit, this distinction simply allows us to address the requested spiritual needs of youth; we do not represent any religious institution nor does SYSF proselytize in any respect.

Sozo Youth Sanctuary Foundation is not affiliated with Bethel Sozo International nor any of its practices, nor with any other organization utilizing the name Sozo. Sozo is a greek word, meaning to protect, to heal, to restore. This is the meaning we attribute to the word, which may be used by other parties differently.
